Ottawa Senators hire Ron Low to become new assistant coach

The pair will join new head coach John Paddock’s staff.

The 57-year-old Low is a former head coach of the Edmonton Oilers and New York Rangers who has been with the Senators for four seasons. He previously worked as a goaltending coach and pro scout for the Sens.

Low has more than 30 years of professional hockey experience as both a coach and player. The native of Birtle, Man., played 11 NHL seasons as a goaltender.

Wilson most recently worked with the Western Hockey League’s Medicine Hat Tigers. He has previously served as the personal coach to Senators No. 1 goalie Ray Emery, among many others.
