Ovechkin, Capitals face hapless Islanders

UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) — After edging the best team in
the Eastern Conference, Alex Ovechkin and the Washington
Capitals will get a shot at its worst.

Ovechkin and the Capitals will seek their third straight win
when they face the struggling New York Islanders on Monday.

Alexander Semin scored his 18th goal of the season midway
through the third period Saturday to snap a tie and lift
Washington to a 2-1 win over the conference-leading Boston

Defenseman Mike Green added a power-play goal and Jose Theodore
made 23 saves for the Capitals, who have won back-to-back games
following a three-game losing streak.

The reigning Hart Trophy winner, Ovechkin was held without a
point in that one. He still leads the team with 29 goals and 57
points this season.

The Islanders are coming off a 3-1 setback to the New Jersey
Devils on Saturday.

Blake Comeau netted the lone goal for the Islanders, who have
lost seven in a row and 19 of 21. New York has scored just once
in each of its last three contests.
