Philippe Dupuis scores twice as Monsters beat Bulldogs 3-1

CLEVELAND – Philippe Dupuis scored twice and added an assist as the Lake Erie Monsters beat the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-1 in AHL action Friday.

Matt Hendricks also scored as the Monsters improved to 19-22-1-5.

Mike Glumac scored the lone goal for the Bulldogs, who dropped to 28-18-2-0.

Dupuis opened the scoring at 6:31 in the first period, putting a rebound past Hamilton goalie Marc Denis on the power play off a shot from T.J. Galiardi.

Hamilton tied it four minutes later when Yanick Lehoux found Glumac, who rifled a shot past Monsters goalie Tyler Weiman. The goal extended Glumac’s road point streak to 15 games, the longest of any AHL player this season.

But the Monsters regained the lead with another power-play goal at 5:38 in the third period. Dupuis’ second of the night came off another rebound, and Hendricks added an empty net goal to secure the win.

Weiman made 22 saves for the win, while at the other end Denis stopped 32.
