Predators F Legwand, Stars G Turco, Penguins F Malkin named NHL’s three stars

Dallas Stars goaltender Marty Turco was named second star of the week while Pittsburgh Penguins rookie forward Evgeni Malkin was chosen as third star.

Legwand, 26, led the Predators to a 3-1-0 record for the week, scoring the winner in each Nashville victory. The second overall pick in the 1998 draft, Legwand capped the week with his first career hat trick in a 6-3 win over Chicago. His third goal of the game made him Nashville’s all-time leading goal-scorer with 97.

Legwand is third on the team with 42 points (18-24) in 46 games.
