Predators hope to find offense against Thrashers

Nashville (10-9-2) at Atlanta (8-11-2), 7:30 pm EST

ATLANTA (Ticker) — The Nashville Predators have suffered
despite valiant efforts from goaltender Dan Ellis.

Looking to bounce back from their third loss in four games, the
Predators visit the Atlanta Thrashers on Friday.

Nashville suffered a 1-0 shootout loss to the St. Louis Blues on
Tuesday and has scored two goals in three losses, compared to
five in its lone win during the team’s current stretch.

Making eight consecutive starts, Ellis made 17 saves against the
Blues and has yielded three or fewer goals in six of them. He
is 4-3-1 with a 2.22 goals-against average in that stretch,
lowering his season mark to 2.90.

The Thrashers have dropped four of their last five after
enjoying a season-best, five-game win streak. They are coming
off a 5-3 loss to the Washington Capitals on Wednesday, one
night after defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs, 6-3.

Vyacheslav Kozlov scored a power-play goal against the Capitals
and has 12 goals after scoring 17 in 2007-08 with Atlanta. He
has also skated in 141 consecutive games.

Selected in the second round by the Thrashers in 2005, rookie
goaltender Ondrej Pavelec has started three of the team’s last
four games and has surrendered 10 goals. The 21-year-old is
2-3-0 with a 2.84 GAA in six games.
