Rangers hoping to end season-long skid vs Capitals

Washington (34-16-4) at NY Rangers (29-20-5), 7:00 pm EST

NEW YORK (Ticker) — The New York Rangers look to snap a
season-long, five-game losing streak when they host the
Washington Capitals on Wednesday.

The Rangers, who suffered a 3-0 loss to the New Jersey Devils on
Monday, have managed just five goals over their currently slide.

“We can fall into the trap of being negative and we can fall
into the trap of feeling sorry for ourselves, and we can fall
into the trap of not clicking in certain parts of our game or we
can suck it up and put our shoulders in and keep working at it,”
New York coach Tom Renney said. “We’re going to find a way.
It’s as simple as that.”

It won’t be easy to find a way against the Southeast
Division-leading Capitals, who have won five straight against
the Rangers – including three games this season.

Washington, which has won four of its previous five, has been
getting great production from defenseman Mike Green.

Green has scored a goal in six straight games, which is a
franchise record for a blue-liner. The 23-year-old, who netted
a pair of goals during Saturday’s 3-1 triumph over the Florida
Panthers, has seven tallies and 13 points over that stretch.
