Red Wings eye fifth straight win

Dallas (17-16-5) at Detroit (27-7-5), 7:30 p.m. EST

DETROIT (Ticker) — The Detroit Red Wings look to continue their
winning ways when they host the Dallas Stars on Thursday.

Detroit has won four straight – two by shutout – including
Tuesday’s 3-0 blanking of Columbus.

Pavel Datsyuk scored a power-play goal and had two assists for
the Red Wings, who scored all three of their goals in the final
period. Datsyuk has nine goals in his last nine games.

Ty Conklin made 23 saves for his fourth shutout of the season,
all coming at Joe Louis Arena.

Dallas is 6-2-1 in its last eight games and is attempting to go
two games over .500 for the first time this season.

James Neal tallied in the fifth round of the shootout as the
Stars defeated Vancouver, 3-2, on Sunday. Mike Modano had a
goal and an assist in the win.

Dallas, which was eliminated by Detroit in the Western
Conference finals last season, won the first meeting, 3-1, on
December 12.
