Reeling Red Wings hope to end slide vs. Blues

DETROIT (Ticker) — The Detroit Red Wings are in unfamiliar

The Red Wings will look to snap a season-worst, five-game losing
streak when they host the St. Louis Blues on Monday.

Ville Leino scored in his first career game during Saturday’s
4-2 loss to the Washington Capitals. Johan Franzen also tallied
for the defending Stanley Cup champions, who were without Henrik
Zetterberg for the second straight contest.

The reigning Conn Smythe Trophy winner, Zetterberg has not
played due to back spasms since signing a 12-year, $72-million
contract extension Wednesday.

Chris Mason helped out at both ends of the ice Saturday, making
36 saves to record his third shutout of the season and
collecting an assist as the Blues skated to a 4-0 victory over
the Philadelphia Flyers.

Jay McClement, defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo, David Backes and
rookie Patrik Berglund scored for St. Louis, which is 4-1-1 over
its previous six contests.
