According to a report in Toronto’s Globe and Mail, Mats Sundin underwent a physical exam at a Toronto hospital Wednesday, which is necessary for him to begin training again.
Sundin is expected to head out to Los Angeles for a two-week training session.
After his training is complete, it is believed the 37-year-old pivot will start looking for an NHL team that is the best fit for him.
Recently, Vancouver, the Rangers, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia and Montreal have all expressed interest in signing Sundin. The Canucks’ two-year, $20 million offer is still on the table.
