Report: Vancouver to bid on 2019 world juniors

The City of Vancouver last played host to the Under-20 event in 2006.

Vancouver would like to host the 2019 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.

According to TSN1040, Ron Toigo, the majority owner of the Western Hockey League’s Vancouver Giants, is interested in pursing the Under-20 tournament.

Vancouver lasted hosted the 2006 tournament where the Canadians won their second of five straight gold medals.

Toronto and Montreal will split the 2017 tournament.

The city of Buffalo will host the 2018 event after previously hosting in 2011.
