Rolling Red Wings seek sixth straight win vs. Wild

Minnesota (28-22-3) at Detroit (36-11-7) 7:30 p.m. EST

DETROIT (Ticker) — The Detroit Red Wings are seeking a fresh
feat this season – build on a five-game winning streak.

Henrik Zetterberg and the Red Wings look to notch a sixth
straight victory for the first time this campaign when they host
the Minnesota Wild on Thursday.

Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk each recorded two goals and an
assist as Detroit extended its run Tuesday with a 5-3 triumph
over the Nashville Predators. It also improved to 4-0-0 since
Zetterberg signed a franchise-record 12-year contract extension
on January 29.

Marian Hossa added a score and defenseman Brian Rafalski notched
three assists for the Red Wings, who had dropped five in a row
prior to their current surge.

Ty Conklin, who posted his sixth shutout of the season in
Sunday’s 3-0 win over Pittsburgh, made 18 saves and helped
Detroit to its third winning streak of five games this season.

The Red Wings will turn their attention to a team that is coming
off a thrilling victory of its own.

Antti Miettinen snapped a tie with 71 seconds remaining in the
third period, lifting the Wild to a 3-2 triumph over the
Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday.

Owen Nolan recorded a goal and an assist, Pierre-Marc Bouchard
also tallied and All-Star Niklas Backstrom made 20 saves for
Minnesota, which has won four of its last five.

After this contest, the Wild will embark on a three-game
homestand, beginning Saturday against the Ottawa Senators.
