Torres tied it 2-2 for Edmonton with 7:15 left in the second period when he put in a shot from the bottom of the right circle.
Detroit scored two power-play goals in the game’s first eight minutes to take a 2-0 lead.
Zetterberg got his 33rd goal on a one-time shot from the right circle, and Holmstrom his 21st by tipping in Lidstrom’s shot.
Smyth made it 2-1 with a power-play goal with five minutes left, when he put in his own rebound for his 31st.
