Sabres host struggling Senators

BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) — Losers of four straight, things
will not get any easier for the Ottawa Senators when they take
on the Buffalo Sabres and their spotless regulation record on

Buffalo has earned at least a point in all of its eight games
this season while Ottawa is in the midst of a four-game losing

The Sabres own a three-point lead over Montreal in the Northeast
division, with left wing Thomas Vanek and goaltender Ryan Miller
leading the way.

Vanek leads the NHL with eight goals and Miller owns a
league-leading 1.60 goals against average. The American
netminder also ranks second in the league with a .940 save

Each of the last four games for the Sabres has required overtime
or a shootout, with Buffalo capturing three shootout wins and an
overtime victory.

After earning three points in a pair of games against Pittsburgh
in Stockholm, the Senators have lost five of their last six
games, including three one-goal decisions.

Defenseman Filip Kuba leads Ottawa with 11 assists while left
wing Dany Heatley and center Jason Spezza have collected nine
points apiece.

Monday’s matchup marks the second in a four-game, eight-day road
trip for Ottawa.
