San Jose Sharks place centre Marcel Goc on injured reserve

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The San Jose Sharks placed centre Marcel Goc on injured reserve Friday because of a lower-body injury.

Goc was hurt in San Jose’s 5-2 win in Boston on Tuesday night, and missed the Sharks’ loss Wednesday night in Pittsburgh.

It is his third injury of the season, following a three-game absence due to back problems in October and a five-game spell three weeks later because of an undisclosed injury. He has two goals and seven assists in 43 games this season.
