WINNIPEG – Goaltender Cory Schneider made 38 saves for his fourth shutout as the Manitoba Moose earned a 4-0 win over the Grand Rapids Griffins in American Hockey League action Sunday.
Jordan Schroeder, Vancouver’s first-round pick in 2009, scored his first two professional goals in his first game for the Moose (34-30-6), who moved five points up on the idle Lake Erie Monsters for the North Division’s final playoff spot and closed to within four points of the Rochester Americans for third place in the North.
Kevin Clark also scored his first pro goal and defenceman Lawrence Nycholat registered his fourth goal of the season to round out Manitoba’s scoring. Matt Pettinger chipped in three assists in the victory.
Schneider halted a two-game winless skid and collected his first shutout since a 35-save blanking of Abbotsford back on Jan. 13. Daniel Larsson stopped 24 shots for the Griffins (29-35-6).
