Scrivens, Kadri lead Toronto Marlies in 5-1 victory over Rockford IceHogs

ROCKFORD, Ill. – Ben Scrivens made 34 saves and the Toronto Marlies scored five consecutive goals in a 5-1 win over the Rockford IceHogs on Friday in the American Hockey League.

Nazem Kadri and Marcel Mueller scored a goal and two assists each to lead Toronto (18-15-6), while Jay Rosehill, Jeff Cowan and Brayden Irwin added singles.

Igor Makarov opened the scoring for Rockford (15-15-5) at 1:22 of the first period short handed before the Marlies took over, with Cowan scoring a power-play goal 33 seconds later.

Toronto converted twice on the power play out of six chances.

IceHogs goalie Hannu Toivonen let in the first three shots he faced before being replaced by Alec Richards, who stopped 24 of 26 shots.
