Sedins save Canucks with five-pass ‘Sedin Magic’ OT winner

The Sedin twins played a game of keep away with Blackhawks defenseman Michal Rozsival before burying the overtime winner Wednesday night. Watch as the twins complete five perfect passes and make Rozsival’s head spin.

There are times when Daniel and Henrik Sedin are so in sync that it seems unbelievable, even for twins. Wednesday night was another one of those moments.

After the Blackhawks scored two goals in the final two minutes to tie the score at four and send the game to overtime, the Sedins hit the ice in overtime and teamed up to make Chicago defenseman Michal Rozsival look like a passing obstacle. The Sedins completed not one, not two, but five tape-to-tape passes before Daniel found the back of the net.

Poor Rozsival. He just stood there, hoping that by waving his stick back and forth he would be able to get a piece of the puck. Alas, a waving stick might be enough to stop mere mortals, but when the Sedins get going, they’re magicians.

The overtime winner was Daniel’s second goal of the evening, 13th of the season and 46th point. After a down year last season in which he scored only 47 points in 73 games, Daniel is now on pace for 71 points. As for Henrik, it was his second assist of the evening, 37th assist on the year and 46th point. And, you guessed it, it also puts him on pace for 71 points.
