Sharks look to build off momentum against Blues

ST. LOUIS (Ticker) — With their longest losing streak of the
season over, the San Jose Sharks will meet the St. Louis Blues
on Thursday.

Defenseman Christian Ehrhoff scored with 86 seconds left in
overtime as the Sharks ended their slide Tuesday with a 5-4
victory over the Minnesota Wild.

Joe Thornton netted a pair of goals and Travis Moen collected a
shorthander and an assist for San Jose, which snapped a
four-game slide to maintain the top spot in the Western

“We’ve won, finally. That’s a really good thing,” said Sharks
coach Todd McLellan, who saw his team squander an early
three-goal lead. “We’ll take the win, but I’m disappointed.

“I’m disappointed in the way we carried ourselves. We’re a club
that’s won a lot of hockey games for a reason. We should be
playing with a lot of confidence.”

David Perron scored twice and David Backes added a goal and an
assist as the Blues cruised to a 5-2 victory over the Dallas
Stars on Tuesday.

Brad Winchester and Keith Tkachuk also tallied and defenseman
Carlo Colaiacovo added a pair of assists for St. Louis, which
has won five of its last seven games.
