Sharks look to rebound from rare loss against Hurricanes

SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) — The San Jose Sharks find
themselves in a rare predicament – needing to rebound from a
setback at HP Pavilion.

Coming off a deflating loss, the Sharks look to bounce back on
their home ice when they host the Carolina Hurricanes on

Evgeni Nabokov surrendered up four goals after giving up just
one in his previous three games in San Jose’s 4-2 setback to the
Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday.

The Sharks fell to 23-2-2 at home this season, and are 31-2-3 in
their last 36 games at HP Pavilion.

Carolina began its current three-game road trip with a 4-3 loss
to the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday. Despite scoring two or
fewer goals in 27 of its last 40 games, the Hurricanes still
find themselves in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff

Prior to falling to Vancouver, Carolina had won four of five – a
stretch that followed a five-game skid.

Cam Ward has been solid in net, surrendering three or fewer
goals in seven of his last 10 appearances.
