Shorthanded Avalanche hoping to get offense back on track

Colorado (19-19-1) at Nashville (17-18-3), 8:00 pm EST

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) — The Colorado Avalanche’s
injuries appear to have caught up to them.

The Avalanche will try to snap a three-game losing streak when
they visit the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.

Colorado, which is without injured centers Paul Stastny and
captain Joe Sakic, has managed just two goals over its current

Peter Budaj made 35 saves Sunday, but he did not receive any
help from the offense as the Avalanche suffered a 2-0 loss to
the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Predators are also hoping to end a losing streak. Jerred
Smithson and Jason Arnott both netted a goal Saturday, but
Nashville was handed its fourth consecutive loss – a 3-2 setback
to the Calgary Flames.

In the midst of a five-game homestand, the Predators have posted
a 3-8-1 record over their previous 12 contests.

Nashville hosts the Pittsburgh Penguins and Chicago Blackhawks
on Thursday and Saturday, respectively, before heading out on
the road.
