TORONTO – More than two million Canadians tuned in to watch Sidney Crosby’s return to the NHL, TSN announced Friday.
Crosby’s return to the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup Thursday night attracted an average audience of 547,000 viewers on TSN2, according to overnight data from BBM Canada. That makes it the second-highest audience ever on the TSN’s secondary feed.
Overall, more than 2.2 million Canadians tuned in to watch some, or all, of the Penguins’ 5-2 victory over the New York Rangers. Crosby had two assists in the contest.
Crosby was returning after a three-month layoff after suffering his second concussion in less than a year in December.
