Source: Calgary Flames sign goalie Miikka Kiprusoff to long-term deal

CALGARY – The Calgary Flames are locking up goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff to a long-term deal.A source tells The Canadian Press that the two sides have agreed to a contract extension. An official announcement is expected later today. Kiprusoff, who has spent almost four years with the Flames, is 5-3-3 this season.He helped the Flames reach the Stanley Cup final in 2004, where they lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning in seven games.Kiprusoff, who won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s top goalie in 2006, has one year left on his current deal at US$3.6 million.
