St. Louis Blues without top two goalies after Legace knocked out by shot

Legace was placed on injured reserve Thursday, a day after getting hurt. Calls to the Blues regarding Legace’s condition were not immediately returned. He will be out a minimum of seven days. On Thursday, the Blues recalled goalie Marek Schwarz from the AHL team in Peoria, Ill.

The 20-year-old Schwarz will be the backup to Jason Bacashihua, recalled from Peoria on Dec. 1 when Curtis Sanford was sidelined with a groin injury. Sanford will be sidelined six to eight weeks.

Bacashihua, scheduled to start Thursday at Detroit, was 2-5-1 with a 3.78 goals-against average in Peoria.

Legace won 37 games with the Red Wings last season, but has struggled with the Blues after signing as a free agent in August. He’s 5-10-1 in 17 games with a 3.48 goals-against average and .888 save percentage.
