Streaking Canucks host Wild

Minnesota (30-26-5) at Vancouver (32-22-8) 10:00 pm EST

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) — In their last meeting
with the Minnesota Wild, the Vancouver Canucks were in the midst
of a devastating stretch that sent them plummeting down the
Western Conference standings.

However, Vancouver has been on a roll since and will look to
continue its winning ways when it hosts Minnesota on Tuesday.

Winners of 11 of their last 13, the Canucks have jumped into
fifth place in the West, thanks in part to the stellar play of
Roberto Luongo. After losing the final five games of
Vancouver’s eight-game slide (0-5-3) from January 9-31, the
veteran goaltender has won 10 of 11.

Luongo has allowed two goals or less in five straight games,
including a 19-save performance in Sunday’s 3-1 win against
Columbus.

Minnesota is in the middle of its own troubles, posting a 2-4-2
mark in its last eight games to fall two points behind Edmonton
and Anaheim for eighth place in the conference.

Andrew Brunette and Antti Miettinen scored on the power play but
the Wild were held to two goals or less for the sixth time
during their slide in a 3-2 loss to Edmonton on Saturday.

Vancouver won the first three meetings against its Northwest
Division rival before a 4-3 overtime win on January 31.
