Streaking Sharks go for ninth straight victory

Columbus (11-10-3) at San Jose (21-3-1), 10:30 p.m. EST

SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) — The San Jose Sharks have been
virtually unbeatable at home. Unfortunately for the rest of the
league, that is where they’ll be for the next four contests.

San Jose looks to run its winning streak to nine games when it
hosts the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday.

Joe Thornton had a goal and three assists in the first period as
the Sharks cruised to a 5-2 triumph over former coach Ron Wilson
and the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.

The victory improved San Jose’s record to 13-0-1 at the HP

Columbus is opening a three-game road trip and can match its
season-high winning streak of three games with another win.

Kristian Huselius scored the game-winner with 4:44 left as the
Blue Jackets defeated the Vancouver Canucks, 3-2, on Monday.
Rick Nash had two assists and fed Huselius in front for the
winning tally.

The Sharks had an 11-game winning streak last season from
February 21-March 14.
