EDMONTON – Taylor Hall will be in the Edmonton Oilers’ lineup Saturday when they host the Calgary Flames.
Hall missed Edmonton’s last two games after having his face lacerated in a scary incident during warmups before the Oilers played in Columbus on Jan. 17.
“It doesn’t hurt,” Hall said on the Oilers’ official Twitter feed. “My eye is swollen but I can see.”
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NHL draft was sliced open when he slipped on the ice and collided with a teammate before he was accidentally cut on the head by Corey Potter’s skate.
Potter had tried to jump out of the way when he saw his teammates sliding toward him, but instead brought his skate down on Hall’s forehead.
“He wants to play hockey and wants to help (the team),” Edmonton coach Tom Renney said. “You have to admire that.”
