The Chicago Blackhawks received their Stanley Cup rings Sunday evening in a private ceremony and their new piece of jewellery is stunning. The 2015 championship band includes 355 diamonds on a 14-karat white gold ring. Fans looking for their own ring can even get their own — for nearly $6,000 — through a store set up by ring-maker Jostens.
To the victor goes the spoils, which in the case of the 2015 Chicago Blackhawks roster means a 14-karat, 355-diamond ring to honor their Stanley Cup victory.
Players and staff from the Blackhawks 2015 Cup-winning roster were presented with the rings in a private ceremony Sunday evening. But just because the Blackhawks have earned the title of modern-day dynasty from some doesn’t mean the rings have gotten more and more excessive over their three championships.
Their first modern-era Stanley Cup ring, coming after the 2010 championship, contained 404 diamonds and gemstones set into a 14-karat white gold ring and cost an estimated $30,000 a pop, according to Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune. But even that ring paled in comparison to the 2013 ring. While it had nearly 150 fewer diamonds and gemstones, the 2013 ring’s carat-count was 14.68. That’s nearly twice as much as the 2010 ring, which came in at 8 carats.
Shockingly, that means the Blackhawks’ new jewellery lands somewhere between the 2010 and 2013 ring. Set into the same 14-karat band white gold that has been used on all three rings, the 2015 ring features 355 diamonds with the Blackhawks’ crest set on top of 50 princess-cut diamonds which were custom cut for the new piece of hardware.
Total, the diamonds and gems on the new band come in at 10.8 carats, outdoing the 8-carat 2010 ring but falling behind the nearly 15-carat 2013 ring.
For intricate details, the ring has all six of the club’s Stanley Cups set into the left side of the band, while the right side boasts each player or staff member’s name along with the Blackhawks’ secondary logo. Engraved inside of each ring is the team’s “One Goal” slogan, as well as a silhouette of the Stanley Cup and the Blackhawks’ opponents and series scores.

But the Blackhawks and Jostens didn’t stop at producing the rings. As part of celebrating Chicago’s run of success, Jostens has set up a store for Blackhawks fans to get their own little slice of the 2015 Stanley Cup championship.
Fans can purchase an “Ultimate Fan Ring,” which comes in at $5,802.27 and includes 63 diamonds atop a 10-karat while gold ring. Those looking for a cheaper option can instead get the “Fan Ring,” which starts at $285.63, has 12 diamonds and can be any of three choices of metals — one of which is 10-karat while gold.
One of the more interesting items is the paperweight set, which includes replicas of the 2010, 2013 and 2015 Stanley Cup rings. The price tag is a hefty $500, however. Other items for purchase include keychains, cufflinks, bracelets, necklaces and pendants.
