Player News…

Andrew Hutchinson, D, Dallas Stars
2008/12/03: Veteran defenseman Andrew Hutchinson made his season debut with the Dallas Stars in Tuesday’s 3-1 road win over Calgary. Hutchinson, acquired recently from Tampa Bay, did not score but played 2:49 on the power play and took four shots in the game. Hutchinson is an accomplished American League scorer and is expected to help fill in for the still-hobbled Sergei Zubov (groin).

Alexander Frolov, LW/RW, Los Angeles Kings
2008/12/03: Los Angeles winger Alexander Frolov netted his 10th goal of the year in a 4-2 loss to Phoenix on Tuesday. Rookie Oscar Moller contributed the other marker for the Kings on the night. Frolov (17) now trails Anze Kopitar (18) by just one point for the team lead in scoring.

Mikael Tellqvist, G, Phoenix Coyotes
2008/12/03: Phoenix goaltender Mikael Tellqvist collected his fourth win in seven starts as the Coyotes bested the Los Angeles Kings 4-2 on Tuesday. Tellqvist has played in five of Phoenix’s last six games, mostly thanks to his stellar season marks of 2.03 (GAA) and .940 (save percentage). He is pushing usual starter Ilya Brazgalov (2.75, .911) for playing time.

Enver Lisin, RW/LW, Phoenix Coyotes
2008/12/03: Coyotes winger Enver Lisin scored two goals (including the game-winner), in Tuesday’s 4-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings. Lisin has bounced between Phoenix and AHL San Antonio over the past two seasons, but has posted six points in eight games so far this year and five (three goals, two assists) over his past five outings.

Loui Eriksson, RW/LW, Dallas Stars
2008/12/03: Dallas winger Loui Eriksson scored his 12th goal of the season Tuesday in the third period of the Stars’ 3-1 triumph at Calgary. It’s looking like a breakout season for the third-year sinper. He posted 14 goals in 69 games last season for Dallas, and has almost already equalled that in only 24 outings so far for 2008-09.

Fabian Brunnstrom, LW/RW, Dallas Stars
2008/12/03: Dallas Stars rookie Fabian Brunnstrom scored the game-winner in Tuesday night’s 3-1 victory over Calgary. Brunnstrom has seven goals on the year, but continues to see scarce ice time, only playing 8:54 against the Flames.
