Vancouver sends centre Marc Chouinard to minors after disappointing season

Also being sent to the Moose was centre Brad Moran. The Canucks had placed Chouinard on waivers Monday. Vancouver had signed Chouinard, an unrestricted free agent, to a two-year deal worth $US1.1-million a season last July. But the native of Charlesbourg, Que., had been a major disappointment. The 29-year-old had just two goals and a pair of assists in 42 games.

The six-year NHL veteran has seen time with three teams, scoring 37 goals and 41 assists for a total of 78 points in 320 career games played.

By sending Chouinard to the minors his salary comes off the Canucks books.

Moran, 27, has played in three games for the Canucks in 2006-07, registering one assist. In 49 games with the Moose he is second in team in scoring with 57 points, including 19 goals.
