VIDEO: Blues top prospect Pietrangelo honing craft with Barrie in OHL final

When the St. Louis Blues selected Alex Pietrangelo fourth overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft they knew they were getting a premier defensive prospect, but what they didn’t know was how quickly he would be able to make the jump to the NHL.
Despite playing eight games with the Blues in 2008-09 and nine in ‘09-10, St. Louis management felt the best thing for the King City, Ont., native was to hone his craft back in major junior and returned him to the Niagara IceDogs following the 2010 World Junior Championship.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder was traded to the Barrie Colts at the Ontario League trade deadline and with his help the top-ranked Colts are facing off against the defending Memorial Cup champion Windsor Spitfires in the OHL final.
Ryan Kennedy caught up with Pietrangelo in the midst of his last OHL playoff run.
