When the Toronto Maple Leafs traded defenseman Francois Beauchemin to the Anaheim Ducks for winger Joffrey Lupul, prospect Jake Gardiner and a conditional fourth round draft pick in 2013 it created an opportunity for a young Leaf defender to step up and make an impact – enter Keith Aulie.
