Tarasenko slips puck past Brian Elliott during shootout selfie

We’re used to seeing the forwards use the props during the Skill’s Competition’s Breakaway Challenge, but it was Brian Elliott who busted out something unique first. During teammate Vladimir Tarasenko’s first attempt, Elliott snapped a selfie.

Once again, there were props galore busted out for the All-Star Skills Competition’s Breakaway Challenge. Thanks to St. Louis Blues goaltender
Brian Elliott, fans can get up close and personal. During
Vladimir Tarasenko‘s first attempt, the netminder got his phone out and snapped a quick pic while his teammate barrelled down on him. Tarasenko held his pose perfectly, and Elliott didn’t even flinch as the shot came sliding towards him. You can check out the full selfie below.

Tarasenko and Elliott teamed up again later in the shootout, with Elliott holding a target in his glove, but the first attempt was the one that took the cake. However, when all was said and done, the win went to Columbus’ own
Ryan Johansen who used a handful of props, and also donned an Ohio State University jersey, much to the delight of the crowd. We’ll always be left to wonder what would have happened had
Johnny Gaudreau been allowed to light his stick on fire.
