Wings sign Brad McCrimmon, Paul MacLean as assistant coaches

DETROIT – The Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings are bringing in former defenceman Brad McCrimmon as an assistant coach.

The team announced Monday it had signed McCrimmon to a three-year contract.

McCrimmon spent four seasons as an assistant coach in Atlanta and previously was on coaching staffs with Calgary and the New York Islanders. He played 18 seasons in the NHL, including three seasons in Detroit in the early 1990s.

The Wings also re-signed assistant coach Paul MacLean to a three-year deal.

Keith McKittrick was signed to a two-year contract as video coach. He previously worked on the coaching staff at Michigan State.
