Avalanche place defenceman Adam Foote on IR, recall MacKenzie

DENVER - The Colorado Avalanche placed defenceman Adam Foote on the injured list Saturday due to injuries to his lower back and knee, and recalled defenceman Aaron MacKenzie from Lake Erie of the AHL.

In 19 games this season, Foote has one assist.

MacKenzie had three goals and three assists in 16 games for Lake Erie. He has not played an NHL game and he was a healthy scratch on Saturday night when the Avalanche faced Tampa Bay.
