Avs D Scott Hannan leaves game in 2nd period against Kings with head injury

DENVER - Avalanche defenceman Scott Hannan has left Colorado's game against the Los Angeles Kings because of a head injury.

The team says he will not return.

The Avalanche were already down a defenceman with captain Adam Foote sitting out the contest after sustaining a head injury against San Jose on Thursday night.

Hannan took Foote's spot alongside Kyle Cumiskey. It was unclear how Hannan was injured.
