Beach scores tiebreaker in third to give IceHogs 3-2 win over Heat
ROCKFORD, Ill. - Kyle Beach scored a tiebreaking goal late in the third period to give the Rockford IceHogs a 3-2 win over the Abbotsford Heat on Saturday in the American Hockey League.
Abbotsford jumped out to a 2-0 nothing lead in the first period when Quintin Laing and Greg Nemisz scored within the first six minutes of play.
Kyle Hagel cut Rockford's deficit in half with a goal early in the second period and Ryan Potulny tied the game at 1:34 of the third.
Beach tallied his 10th of the year at 17:54 while on the power play.
Jean-Philippe Lamoureux made 25 saves for the Heat (23-21-7), while Alec Richards stopped 27 shots at the other end for the IceHogs (20-21-6).
