Blackhawks agree to deal Aucoin to Flames - if he waives no-trade clause

The Blackhawks have agreed to trade Aucoin to the Calgary Flames and are waiting to see if the 33-year-old will waive his no-trade clause, a source told the Canadian Press on Thursday. Aucoin has a prior relationship with new Flames head coach Mike Keenan, having played under him with the Vancouver Canucks during the 1998-99 campaign. Aucoin finished with a career-high 23 goals that season.

Aucoin, 33, had four goals, 12 assists and a minus-22 rating in 59 games for the Blackhawks last season. The six-foot-two, 215-pounder missed 23 games with a groin injury.

Aucoin has two years left on a deal that will pay him US$4 million per season. An all-star in 2003-04, he has 88 goals and 179 assists in 694 career games with Vancouver, Tampa Bay, the New York Islanders and Chicago.
