CHICAGO - Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford was knocked out of Sunday night's game against the Florida Panthers after he sustained a lower-body injury in the first period.
Crawford left the game with 6:15 remaining in the opening frame, and the Blackhawks said he wouldn't return. Crawford, the team's top netminder, went down to make a pad save on Marcel Goc moments earlier and was unable to get back up on his skates.
He was helped from the ice by teammates and a trainer and was replaced by rookie Antti Raanta with Chicago leading 2-0.
