Blackhawks Hartman ‘to miss some time’

The 22-year-old forward suffered a lower body injury in Chicago's 3-2 loss to the Nashville Predators on Friday night.

The Chicago Blackhawks will be without the services of Ryan Hartman for the foreseeable future.

Hartman appeared to be injured before blocking a P.K. Subban shot during his second shift of the Blackhawks 3-2 loss to the Predators on Friday night. He did not return to the game registering an assist in 1:56 of ice time.

“He's going to miss some time. We'll know more (on Saturday),” Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville told reporters post-game. “Lower body. Probably more than a couple games.”

Hartman, who started the game on a line with Marcus Kruger and Marian Hossa, has a goal and an assist through the first two games of the season – both Blackhawks losses.

The 22-year-old 2013 first-round pick of the Blackhawks split last season between Chicago and the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs. In 61 games with Rockford, Hartman scored 15 goals and 35 points. He added an assist in three games with Chicago.

Centre Dennis Rasmussen is the lone extra forward on the Blackhawks roster.

Chicago returns to action on Saturday night when they play host to Nashville.
