Blackhawks place Hossa on injured list, recall Morin, Klinkhammer

CHICAGO - The Chicago Blackhawks have placed star forward Marian Hossa on the injured list, freeing up roster space while Patrick Kane also nurses a leg injury.

The move Wednesday allowed Chicago to recall forwards Jeremy Morin and Rob Klinkhammer from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Hossa has recorded 18 points (eight goals, 10 assists) this season. He has been sidelined since injuring his lower body in a collision with teammate Nick Boynton during practice on Nov. 29. He was expected to miss two to three weeks.

Kane, who has 27 points (11-16), could be out for up to three weeks after injuring his leg while hitting the boards early in a win over Calgary on Sunday.

The Stanley Cup champions were 15-12-2 heading into Wednesday's game against the Dallas Stars.
