The Chicago Blackhawks have signed forwards Max Domi and Andreas Athanasiou to one-year, $3-million contracts.
It's been a long few years since Domi scored 28 goals and 72 points with the Canadiens in 2018-19. He had just 39 this year but spent most of the season on a bad Blue Jackets team before joining the Carolina Hurricanes at the trade deadline. He won't have a great lineup to work with in Chicago, but he'll have more than a few opportunities to play key minutes.
Athanasiou is a speedy forward coming off a 17-point season in 28 games with the Kings. Athanasiou had a career-high 54 points with the Red Wings in 2018-19 but has mostly been a depth scoring piece everywhere else. For the Blackhawks, this is a solid pickup.
