Bliznak scored twice as Manitoba Moose defeat the Chicago Wolves 4-2

CHICAGO - Mario Bliznak potted two goals as the Manitoba Moose defeated the Chicago Wolves on Saturday night with a 4-2 victory in the AHL.

Matt Pettinger and Dan Sexton also scored for the Moose (13-9-4) while goaltender Daren Machesney stopped 28 of 30 attempts.

The Moose scored 19 seconds in when Bliznak, who was waiting patiently in front of the net, tipped the puck over former Moose goaltender Drew MacIntyre.

On the power play five minutes in, Pettinger squeaked the puck through MacIntyre's legs to extend his clubs lead, 2-0.

The Moose capped off a momentum shift with their third unanswered goal of the night, coming in the second period. Bliznak charged the net and beat the goalie through his five-hole for his second of the night, chasing MacIntyre.

Peter Mannino replaced MacIntyre between the pipes for Chicago (11-10-1).

At 15:38 Sexton scored his first AHL goal when he wired the bullet past Mannino to put the Moose in a 4-0 lead.

The Wolves broke their goose-egg in the third when Joey Crabb re-directed a rebound into the net at 4:16 on the power play.

While on the man advantage, Anthony Stewart's wrist shot sailed over Machesney to put the Wolves within two.
