Blue Jackets acquire Jason Williams from Thrashers

The Columbus Blue Jackets picked up center Jason Williams from the Atlanta Thrashers Wednesday in exchange for defenseman Clay Wilson and San Jose's sixth-round draft pick in 2009.

In 41 games for Atlanta this season, Williams has recorded seven goals and 18 points. He has played in 337 career NHL games with Atlanta, Chicago and Detroit.

Wilson, a 25-year-old from Sturgeon Lake, Minn., has 20 points in 33 games for Columbus' American League affiliate in Syracuse and has one assist in five games with the NHL club this season.
