Blue Jackets assign Nikita Filatov to AHL's Springfield, recall Tom Sestito

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets assigned left winger Nikita Filatov to Springfield of the American Hockey League on Friday and recalled enforcer Tom Sestito.

The 20-year-old Filatov was the Blue Jacket's first pick, sixth overall, in the 2008 draft. The Russian has seven assists in 23 games this season, and has six goals and seven assists in 44 games over three seasons.

The 23-year-old Sestito, from Rome, N.Y., has six goals, 11 assists and 81 penalty minutes in 17 games for Springfield this season. He has played in four games for the Blue Jackets.
