Blue Jackets recall Russian forward Nikita Filatov from AHL affiliate

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets recalled forward Nikita Filatov from the club's American Hockey League team in Syracuse.

Filatov, 18, is expected to help a roster that is missing several injured forwards. He was the Blue Jackets' first-round pick in last summer's draft.

Filatov had eight goals and three assists in seven games while leading Russia to a bronze medal last weekend at the world junior hockey championship in Ottawa.

In his first season in North America, he has one goal in four games with the Blue Jackets and seven goals and 10 assists in 23 games at Syracuse.
