Blues assign defenceman to junior team for second straight season

ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Blues assigned defenceman Alex Pietrangelo, the fourth pick in the 2008 draft, to the Niagara IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League.

The 19-year-old Pietrangelo had a goal and an assist in nine games this season. He began last season with St. Louis, too, playing eight games.

Pietrangelo made his second consecutive appearance in the world junior hockey championship for Canada, and led defencemen with 12 points on three goals and nine assists.
