Blues go for third straight win as they visit Ducks

St. Louis (12-11-3) at Anaheim (15-10-3), 10:00pm EST

ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- The St. Louis Blues look to

extend their winning streak to three games Wednesday when they

visit the Anaheim Ducks.

The Blues, who have had an up-and-down season as they try to

snap their three-season playoff drought, opened up December with

a shutout loss followed by an overtime defeat, but have

rebounded nicely over the last two games.

The night after falling to the Calgary Flames in an extra

period, the Blues came back with a 4-3 triumph over the Phoenix

Coyotes thanks to Brad Boyes' three assists. Two nights later,

right wing B.J. Crombeen recorded his first career hat trick to

spearhead a 6-3 win over the Nashville Predators.

One of St. Louis' biggest strengths has been the performance of

its power-play unit, which ranks third in the league with a 24.3

percent conversion rate. In its last two wins, the team has

scored three power-play goals in nine opportunities.

The Ducks snapped a two-game skid on Sunday with a 5-3 win over

the Columbus Blue Jackets. Center Ryan Getzlaf scored twice,

while Chris Kunitz and George Parros recorded two assists apiece

to lead the way.

Getzlaf is fourth in the league with 34 points, registering 12

goals and 22 assists. He is on pace to surpass the career high

of 82 points he set in 2007-08.
