Blues take on slumping Oilers

Edmonton (9-10-2) at St. Louis (9-9-2) 2:00 p.m. EST

ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- Despite suffering a loss in their last

game, the St. Louis Blues are showing signs of life. The same

cannot be said of the Edmonton Oilers.

The Blues go for their fifth win in seven games on Saturday when

they host the slumping Oilers.

St. Louis endured a rough start to November, posting a 0-4-1

record in its first five games this month to stretch its

season-high losing streak to six games overall.

However, the Blues have reversed that trend recently, winning

three straight and four of five before dropping a 3-1 decision

to the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday.

The loss ended St. Louis' season-high five-game point streak in

which all five contests had been decided by one goal.

The Blues hope to bounce back against Edmonton, which endured

its second straight regulation loss and fell to 1-4-1 over its

last six games during Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Los Angeles

Ales Hemsky netted his sixth goal of the season against the

Kings, but the Oilers failed to notch their first home win since

October 18.

"I think the confidence level of the team offensively is down,

and we need a game where we try to get a firm handle on our

confidence offensively and let the offense flow a little

easier," Edmonton coach Craig MacTavish said.
