Boston Bruins acquire G Philippe Sauve from Phoenix for C Redenbach

Sauve has played in 10 games with San Antonio of the American Hockey League this season, posting a 4-5-0 record with a 3.80 goals against average.

Last season, he played in 13 games with the Coyotes and Calgary Flames, posting a 3-7-0 record. In 30 career NHL games, he's 10-14-3 record with a 3.39 GAA.

Sauve was assigned to the AHL's Providence Bruins.

The Bruins currently have Tim Thomas and Brian Finley in goal but have been unhappy with their netminders all season. Hannu Toivonen was sent down to the minors recently after he struggled to a 2-3-0 mark with a 4.20 GAA in seven games and replaced by Finley.

Redenbach, 22, has five assists and six penalty minutes in 13 games with Providence this season. Last season, he had 26 goals and 32 assists in 78 games with Providence.

In 2003-04, Redenbach led the Western Hockey League in assists (74) and points (105) while with the Swift Current Broncos.
