Boston Bruins promote executives Jim Benning and Don Sweeney

Benning was the team's director of player personnel last season, his first with the club. He joined the Bruins after 12 seasons with the Buffalo Sabres, where he spent the previous eight years as director of amateur scouting.

Sweeney, who was Boston's director of player development last season, spent 15 of his 16 NHL seasons as a player with the Bruins.
